At Kai Tak Veterinary Hospital, our priority is to take care of animals, as well as support our patients’ families. We formulate personalised treatment plans for each individual patient, and treat our patients and their families with respect, in a caring and professional manner, ensuring that the entire family is well-educated in their pet’s disease processes and prognosis.
As one of the most equipped veterinary facility in the area, we strive to provide the highest quality care and use state-of-the art equipment to help us deliver this to our patients in Hong Kong.
In-house laboratory
Our in-house laboratory is fully equipped with modern laboratory machines, including haematology, biochemistry, electrolytes, coagulation profile, hormone measurement, urinalysis, microscopy, and more. Since these tests are run in-house, the results are usually available within an hour. This allows us to assess the condition of your pet and formulate an appropriate treatment plan promptly.
If necessary, some samples may be sent to outside laboratories for more advanced tests.
Diagnostic Imaging
One of our biggest priorities is reducing the impact and recovery time of our patients in getting a diagnosis. One of the best ways to archive this is diagnostic imaging.
Digital Radiography (X-Ray)
We use digital imaging technology to get superior quality images in a fraction of the time of conventional radiography. This allows us to rapidly complete diagnostic studies. The images are stored electronically and a copy can be shared with pet owners if requested.
Ultrasonography
This non-invasive and non-painful method is one of the most commonly used equipment in our hospital to diagnose many conditions and diseases in dogs and cats, or for complex procedures like guiding sample collection of masses in internal organs.
Anaesthesia
Some patients require sedation or anaesthesia to enable diagnostic investigations and treatments to be carried out. When they do, each and every patient is treated as an individual: prior to the development of an anaesthetic plan that is tailored to their individual needs and the specifics of the procedure, they receive a thorough pre-anaesthetic assessment to ensure the safety and comfort of our patients. We have invested in advanced multi-parameter anaesthetic monitors to keep a record of all your pet’s important vital signs during sedation or anaesthesia.
Operating Theatre
We perform all of our surgery in a purpose-designed sterile operating theatre that allows us to operate in an infection-free environment, comfortably and with all the necessary equipment to reduce unnecessary surgical time.
Hospital and Day Wards
When an animal is ill or injured, they are particularly vulnerable and it is important for them to be in a peaceful and relaxing environment. Should your pet need to be admitted, you can rest assured that they will be well cared for. Each ward is designed to minimise stress and maximise comfort. Cats and dogs are separated into their own specially equipped wards and each pet has their own private space to rest and recuperate in.
